A Simple Work Smarter Not Harder Tool

Write More Words
There are so many tools popping up all the time to help writers.
How do you know which ones to try?
Do you find yourself spending more time researching time-saving tools instead of writing?
Sometimes the simplest thing can make the biggest difference.
One of these is a kitchen timer (or timer on your phone) and it doesn’t have to be fancy or cost a lot of money.

Lots of people talk about using one but I didn’t think it would help me.
Wrong.
It has made a huge impact on my writing.
Actually, I was stunned that it kept me so focused.
I started with 5 minutes, then 15 minutes, then 30 minutes of writing before I took a break.
And breaks are important to keep your creativity moving forward.
I was afraid if I stopped after the timer went off that it would be harder to start again.
However, it made it easier to pick up where I left off.
Now, everyone is different and you have to find what works for you.
A writer friend of mine would write for 15 minutes and take a 15 minute break.
Another writer friend of mine would write for 30 minutes and take a 5 minute break.
Just experiment until you find your timed writing schedule.
