Cooking With Jalapenos and Texas Heat
Jalapenos are a staple in our home in Texas.
We use them in many different ways, mostly on the grill.
Appetizer
Cream cheese stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon make a great start to any meal.
You can make them yourself or pick them up premade in your grocery store.
They are usually ready in 20-30 minutes, depending on the temperature of your grill.
Pop them in your mouth and enjoy.

Side Dish
Mixed vegetables with jalapenos can be paired with just about any type of meat from the grill.
Grill them whole or stir them in with your favorite veggies.
They add a spicy kick that many Texans love.

Part of the Meal
Hamburgers are easy to grill and who doesn’t like them.
To kick it up a notch, you can add fresh or pickled jalapenos.

If you’re not from Texas, it might sound counterintuitive to add hot jalapenos in the blazing Texas heat.
But we love it!
I would love to hear your favorite way to use jalapenos.

Sandra,
I’ve been afraid of jalapeños ever since I was kid and ate one, thinking it was a strange pickle, and it set my mouth of fire. Guess I’m not one for spicy or hot foods. But I’m sure people who do will love your recipes and cooking suggestions here.
